When I want to reach heights unattainable
When I have to accomplish the impossible
When my heart is overwhelmed
When my soul feels venerated
When I am desperately in need
When I am lavishly supplied
When I am afraid or in doubt
When I am happy and content
When I am hungry and hurting
When I am cheery and celebrating
When I am high and want to parade
When I am low and need to hide
When I am so rich I lack not
When I am so poor I have naught
Whatever the time, however it is
I know only one sure place
Where I need no appointments
And I fear no disappointments
Where I can be it all and do it all:
Down at Your feet, savoring the splendor
And the beauty of Your holiness;
My home and hiding place!

A couple of things make people feel differently; good or bad, sad or excited, merry or depressed, fearful or confident. Various things and places inspire each person in diverse ways. There are places you go when you are rich and high and dare not approach when you are flat on your face. There are people you visit when you are cool and they must not see the other side of you. Yet there is one place, where it doesn’t matter how you feel, when you come, and what state you are in. You can always knock on that door with the certainty of hearing from the other side, “Come in.” That is the Presence of the Lord.

At the feet of the Master, we are always welcome. No fear of being turned back or welcomed halfheartedly or with a frown that is distorted to seem like a smile. Nobody can bar you because you come too often. No guards will say, “Hey there, wait a minute, the King is busy.” Not even angels can stand in the way when you stroll into the palace of your Father. More so when you come carrying offerings of praise and worship: O Lord, teach us to savor the beauty of Your holiness! Teach us the lifestyle of worshiping Your Majesty, and to live honorably among men as the royalties that we are, amen!

Glory!
