Loneliness
Where it seems I am abandoned
Deserted, rejected, alone
But it is God’s finger
Leading me apart;
Away from the crowd
Past the outer courts
Through the sanctuary
Beyond the veil
Where all I hear
See and smell, is God.The land where God is
My sole companion:
Where His flint knife
Drips ever red
As He continuously prunes
The flesh of self
Grafting in His Spirit
And our blood mingle
In an everlasting accord.Moments when the only reality
Is the gaping hole
Of everyone’s absence:
When the bittersweet weight
Of the mighty magnitude
Of God’s awesome power
Keeps me rooted to the point
Where laughter and tears
Mix freely together.Times when I am alone with God
And I have no crutch
To fall back on;
He beats me and none can help
I cry volumes but no other hears
Times when He wounds, then heals.
When He tears and then sews me back together.
When He sows me a grain, expecting fruits.
When He drives me to extreme pains
For measureless gains
In order to anchor my dependence
On eternal foundations. Here He strains off
Every ego and self-aggrandizement
And I suffer till I favor humility.
He rids me of my formulas
Takes over my dreams
Consumes excess luggage
And corrupting chords
Ruins my goods
Seeking nothing but the best.
He refills my tears
And refuels my strength
Enough for each day. There I die daily
And He alone attends my funeral
Officiating my resurrection
Which oftentimes take
Longer than three days.
There and then, He refines my heart
Renews my strength
Realigns my focus
And stabilizes my willingness
To obey, so I can aim better
Fly higher and arrive safely
At the doorstep of destiny.
Loneliness is God’s favorite vehicle and strange enough, He doesn’t drive it alone. He takes along a partner on His frequent solitary trips. And guess what? He hardly takes idle persons. He comes in the midst of your suffocating schedules, takes you to an unknown destination, that even if you think you have had it, you cannot, on your own, find your way back. He will surround you and you will never be able to find your way out of Him! Who has ever walked out on God? He will leave you no choice but to stay. That is why He is GOD. Whoever returns from this trip the same?
