Neither lived well by deception
In life, faith always finds a way.
Yes life is not a dream
Yet life is for dreamers
Who have learned to
Be true to who they are
To swim their reality
With fins of faith and hope.
Life is not who you will be
And what you will have.
Life is what you do
With what you have
Right where you are
And that for sure
Is not a dream!
Holiday is truly over and possibly beautiful memories of wonderful times are being challenged and eroded by tough realities we can’t evade. Dream all we want, life is what it is. Reality can be a tough nut that doesn’t budge to the ever-increasing weights of our wants and wishes. But here we are, as recipients of the greatest gift called life, charged to live it or lose it. Where are you standing this early in the year: living or losing grounds?
Be not deceived, irrespective of presentations and projections, nobody lives everyday on a bed of roses and even if some claim it, don’t forget, roses have thorns. The rose plant like every other living thing on planet earth today, remains subject to the hazards of living. Hence, just like every living thing, it must beat the challenges to survive and thrive. When it doesn’t, it withers and is no more. But when it does, we do not see the battles it fought with the weather, pests and people. All we see and celebrate is the blooming beauty of roses.
Same is life. Faith keeps us grounded. Dreams cheer and encourage us. Hope gives us reasonS to keep standing, to keep going, to keep pursuing, and not give up to things that contradict our dreams, aimed to defeat our faith. Like the rose, those who give up on faith, lose hope, miss noble dreams and are washed away by rising contentious forces of life. Those who choose to hold tight though the forces slay, find themselves still standing when the storm is past. In fact, they discover that the very forces that gathered to sweep them away actually moved them from where they were to where they ought to be. The very forces that sweep away many help to advance the dreams of the patient and the persistent. The very forces that marked the end of some sets a new beginning for those who refuse to give up. In reality, these forces may rage as masters but in truth forces of life are but servants, helping to advance the dreams of those who won’t be carried away.
As you wake up and step out each day, bear in mind that the forces of life await. Don’t hide inside, dreaming away because life is not a dream. Life is real. Life is lived in the field of reality not in the realm of dreams no matter how great. Life is lived by faith that is not afraid to fail and rise to dream again in hope. As you encounter them from day to day, don’t forget: faith is essential. Hold tight to your faith, stay hopeful and cheerful, life is for dreamers but life is not a dream. Whatever happens, whatever comes your way, never forget: dreams come true for those who have learned to not be discouraged by failures and to stand up to challenges. Keep standing….
