On my own, I cannot but I can because of You;
I approach not in fear, I enter with thanksgiving
Because You made the way into the holy of holies
Into the very presence of the mightiest and ever living
Into the very presence of the greatest and ever loving;
I enter, joyful not fearful; not to ask but to give;
I enter, bearing my life, a thanksgiving offering
To Him who gave His all for me; I enter in, lay me down
At His feet, a living sacrifice to Him who loves me so;
My Maker and Provider, my Keeper and Defender
To Him who is and ever will be everything to me
To Him who’s on my side, working it all for the best!

Sometimes, life shines its light upon certain areas of our lives and we are forced to face what we unconsciously or deliberately may have been ignoring; that our lives are not as perfect as we would want it to be; that things have not gone as great as we think they should; that events are not meeting current expectations. Hard pill to swallow, but truth nonetheless. Truth is a double edged sword that can kill and make alive depending on our choices.

There have been times, where knowingly or ignorantly, I have allowed such revelations to stall my progress, drag me into discouragement so that I falter where my strides should be firm. In faltering, questions arose and with those came emotions that neither did any good to history that I couldn’t change nor added any value to the present that impacts future. This is a trick the enemy exploits to drag us down when we should be standing, to keep us rooted to a spot in fear when we should be advancing by faith. And it is the same trick he uses again and again.

There are things in life that are not and will never be under our control no matter how we wish. There are things about our lives we cannot change no matter how hard we try. Nevertheless, there are those we have all that is required to access, exploit and enjoy no matter the distractions and disruptions we may face. The deeper my heart follows into the very presence of God in worship, the more I see clearer, that there are no accidents in our lives; no delays; no denials; it is  simply God working intricate details that we don’t see or know, in ways we cannot tell, to unravel the mystery of His glorious will for us, in times and ways that leave us awestruck.

All of those failures, disappointments, rejections, and whatever names we call them are silent brooding of the Almighty upon circumstances that try to resist yet cannot but bow to the Creator and Sustainer of all that was and is and ever will be. Whatever battles you are facing today, add flavor to your prayers; learn the power of worship. Don’t just go dump your problems on God in the name of prayer and walk away. Take them with you into His very presence and learn to stay; stay with God, steep yourself in the atmosphere that is God and God’s. Let the goal be the offering of yourself not the problems. Be the living sacrifice, the delightful offering fit for the King of kings.

Life can be overwhelming but as we learn to stay with God in worship, we unlearn the world and learn the Lord and His ways. We become more and more overwhelmed by His presence, His power, His purpose and His glory instead of being overwhelmed by the problems. And overwhelmed by Him, we learn to overcome. Worship is an unbeatable weapon of appreciation and warfare.

As God accepts us in the place of worship, as He enjoys this offering that we are, our lives are transformed, weakness turn to strength, mysteries are revealed; we receive keys to unlock the opportunities in problems, to make meat of things that came to mince us and enjoy sweetness from things that could have turned us bitter. On our own, it is tough and we may never get it. We are the better when we learn to turn our lives and not just our problems to God and worship is the best place to lay down all that we are and ever hope to be for all that He wills for us. I pray that you discover and exploit the power of worship like never before.

Blessings
Glory!
