When you don’t know
Don’t fret: it’s okay
To not know: it’s okay
To know you don’t know.
When you don’t know
Be still and know
What you already know
Don’t lose what you know
Because of what you don’t
In those times you don’t know
It’s enough to know what you know.

It is so easy to worry when we don’t know what next. Before I got to where I am now with God, I had to have plans, concrete plans of what next, short and long term, each with its pathway clearly defined. I had to have options A and B and C, each as good as the other, just in case one falls through the cracks of my humanity. I didn’t make much allowances for failure or weakness so I planned my work and worked my plan. Imagine such a person drawing closer to God to the point where we had to do away with those indispensable road maps while I follow wherever He leads, however He chooses? It was rough but I learned to the point that sometimes I do have plans and for some things, I have absolutely none and I am as fine as I can be with each. Why?

Because we are not just out there on our own. Someone is ahead of us. Someone who knows what we don’t. Someone who knows more than our limited understanding can ever hold. Someone who not only knows but also is able to do exceedingly, abundantly, above all that we can ever imagine or ask. Add also the truth that this Someone cares for us more than we can ever care for ourselves. That means, He has our best interest at heart. He demonstrated that 2000 years ago when He put His life at risk for us. He continues to demonstrate it through His gift of grace and mercy, salvation and deliverance. He has never disappointed or taken advantage of us. Why won’t we trust His plan?

Time has proven Him faithful. He has never failed at anything. Everyone who followed Him may not have had it easy but they made it safely to shore. His credentials are real and true. He is dependable. He is trustworthy. And His capability has been proven through endless generations. He is Almighty; Omnipotent, Omnipresent and Omnipotent. Why would we trust our defective plans instead of His flawless and proven ways?

God’s credentials speak for Him. His Words are perfect attestations of His supremacy and integrity. Any wonder the Scripture declares that His ways are higher, His purpose is perfect. How can our plans stand against one developed and executed by the All Sufficient One? If this is our understanding, why should we worry when we don’t see, hear, feel or understand God? Isn’t that a faith-disease than a God-failure?

(To be continued.)

Glory!
