Don’t sleep and walk all at once
When you sleep, rest your feet
When you walk, watch your way
Look down and see what lies in wait
Look up and learn what may be
Look around to know what goes on
Look ahead and be the best you see.
Plan your step and walk with time
Don’t rush, don’t jump, don’t be slack
One step at a time, every step in time
And you’ll see sneaky snares and dodge
Take no one or thing for granted
Therein lies the fall of many
Look in and out and up and down
Serve due esteem to one and all.
Look into the eyeballs of God’s purpose
And by faith take every step.
Food For Thought: Our ratings are often based on what we see and hear and feel. Considering the fact that life is more than what appears, we are bound to miss it if we go by those alone. Besieged by all that we have to deal with, we must do all we can to douse the pressure to jump to conclusions and act before we have thought things through – that is a trap that has led to the downfall of many. Rather than allow ourselves to be driven recklessly by desperation, it helps to pause, turn around and look our pressures in the eye. Then we stand the chance of observing and possibly distinguishing between shadows and realities. It is profitable to look beyond the pressing, to look through the possibilities that can turn ill or good depending on how they are attended; to gain full view of all that is staring at us. It is even much better to look not only with our physical eyes, it pays to view events with eyes of faith; faith that discerns beyond presentations; faith that relies on God’s Word; faith that trusts God through every outcome.
Scripture: Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. Philippians 4: 6.
Prayer: Dear Lord, help me to look way past the things pressing me per time, to look beyond where I am and what I am in, to look into Your eternal plan for my life, and by faith take my steps, amen.
