To every one yearning and reaching for change
To everyone aspiring higher than the present;
Longing for more, dreaming far and beyond
To live farther from wants, closer to purpose
Fall is inevitable. Fall is not always ill:
For good we may fall, as often as it takes
To awaken, to learn, to grow, to mature.
Life lessons hide at the foot of falls.
Beside every fall, small or great, lurk
Invisible arms of grace, waiting
To remold, reorder and raise the willing
Making us fit, ready to dare, to thrive
As masters, of what once floored them.
Food For Thought: We all want the best out of life but life gives the best to those who are willing and persistent to pay the price. In our effort to pay our dues, there are essential and unforgettable lessons that falls must impart. The wisdom thereof teaches us to sustain the blessings when we eventually reach destination. Sometimes, we know we can’t yet afford our desire but don’t want to wait. We want it right away. We don’t want to wait for the price-paying and lessons-learning processes. Subsequently, we resort to short-cuts to steal and enjoy our cravings right away rather than go the long route that demands payment before enjoyment. Truth is, short-cuts might get us there faster but they offer no sustainable guarantee. In such times of haste, fall is inevitable. Unfortunately, while some learn from their fall, enough to reach their dreams and are hence better enabled to enjoy and sustain what they get, those who refuse to learn appear may to be making it and can go very far on the short-cut lanes but when it eventually catches up, the inevitable fall is catastrophic. Every pleasure comes with a tag. It is better to learn before you gain than to learn after losing what you sought. Yet, better to take little losses while practicing than to hit a mega fall while at the center stage.
Scripture: When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, nor shall the flame scorch you. Isaiah 43: 2.
Prayer: Dear Lord, Your ways are past finding, help me to see Your will in seeming misfortunes, and to bear each with grace, amen.
