Wisdom warns; fear no one, fear nothing:
Live free, live right, live well and fear not.
In a fall, the myopic
see only humiliation
The overly cautious hear condemnation
Consumed by regrets, both see only losses.
Fall forces both  to face truth they think ugly
Realities they’d rather d
eflect than defeat.
Each time y
ou fear, stop and ask,
“What truth am I afraid to face?” Those
Willing to learn leaves their hearts open
Knowing that fall is a means not an end.
Taken with grace, t
he wealth it bequeaths
O
utweighs the losses: fear no fall, it truly is
O
pportunity to learn afresh and do better.

Food For Thought: It can be very embarrassing to drop from an exalted position. It is worse when that happens before witnesses, men and women who are not as keen to forgive and forget misfortunes we would rather erase. Any wonder we tend to hate falls? Yet I have learned that to fall is no big deal: it is part of our human nature. Infallibility belongs to the perfect. Our human nature makes us prone to fall every once in a while so wisdom is understanding and aligning with this; taking each fall with humility, learning what we have to, and moving on without allowing it to get in the way of our progress. The wise can take a dose of humility that fools despise. When we think we have hit perfection, fall says, “Not so fast!” Those who heed learn and won’t repeat but those who hate are stuck because they can’t see past where they fell. Be wise: don’t struggle with those who choose to make news of your fall. Don’t let the world define you by your falls. Every man is subject to fall. Take yours the best you can irrespective of what others choose to make of it. Fall is only a loss to those who refuse to learn from it. Learn from yours and move on: leave those who want to remain where you fell behind, they can’t drag you back if you don’t let them.

Scripture: Lead me in Your truth and teach me, for You are the God of my salvation; on You I wait all the day. Psalm 25: 5.

Prayer: Dear Lord, teach me to take my eyes away from those who want to drag down and keep me where I fell: to fix my focus on You who was, who is, and who always will be, my joy and my fear, amen.
