You may fall for those on waiting line of change
A catalyst that
gingers them off the ground:
Seeing you where they are, they open up
Knowing where you’ve been, they learn
Watching you take it and treat as means
Same fall they labelled an end,
Witnessing your healing and recovery
From what they counted impossible,
Observing you gear up from same place
They thought they’d never rise again,
Fly away from where they surmised
They’d never go beyond: your fall can be
T
he miracle they need to believe, to get up
C
lean out, change gears, take off
And reach for where they ought.

Food for Thought: We all laud the coming of Christ as key to the salvation of mankind. Christ had to come for man to be saved. The remarkable thing about that is Christ knew all He would be dealing with on that mission of salvation; losing the glory of heaven, gaining the venom of men. He was set up, falsely accused and condemned unjustly, brutally crucified and left in hell. Maybe the question crossed His mind, “Would the Father deliver on His promise to spare my bones, to not allow my body to be ravaged by corruption?” He knew the immensity of what lay ahead when He came and as He prepared to go the way of the cross. At a point, He prayed that Father would save Him from it all. Nevertheless, in spite of the concerns about all He was about to bear, He surrendered to His Father’s will and purpose. Like every one of us, I am sure Christ had His fears and His doubts but unlike many of us, He allowed neither to deter Him from the mission. He chose to come, to die, in hope that He would be resurrected and we, saved. The miracle is that He didn’t receive the same life He lost: He was rewarded with a higher life. That is the way God works. We may not be called upon to make the ultimate sacrifice of our lives but every day in every way, God calls people like you and me, to lay down what is rightfully ours so that others may be benefited in God’s grand scheme of things. So when you have to take an undeserved fall, don’t just feel bad. Don’t give up and bleed to death. Remember that for us, Christ took it. Take yours with grace and trust that God will deliver on His promises.

Scripture: The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, and He delights in his way. Psalm 37: 23.

Prayer: Dear Lord, make me ever conscious, that life is not only or always about me: help me to be kind and considerate of others I meet on my life’s journey, amen.
