The greatest challenge of life isn’t lack of bread
Man lives, not for bread, not by bread alone;
Not ills and perils slapping back and forth
From the beginning, life’s fraught with risks;
Not want of money, mates and offspring
Many have scored their goals without those;
Generations past and present, have survived
With and without labeled essentials of this age
But when faith is comatose, hope turns the grave
Wherein dreams are buried; now faith is,
Confidence in the certainty of the invisible
Which encourages patience to wait as hope
Matures to reality. The greatest challenge of life
Is to want faith; the heartbeat of hope that slays
Fear, the lifeline to God inspired dreams.

Food For Thought: I have seen the very poor rise to astonishing riches and the rich run into depraving poverty: the latter is the scariest. Even in the Bible, we see uneducated men take on the world, spreading the Good News, with signs and wonders following. Today, there are many with several qualifications and still in desperate want while those without college degrees are impacting nations with their resources. What is the difference you may wonder? Faith; faith in Someone and something bigger than us and our dreams; faith in our ability to turn current tides for the better through Him with whom nothing is impossible; faith that despite prevailing evil in the world of today, good still abounds. You have to believe to receive. Believing injects us with extraordinary energy that propels us to work hand in hand with the Almighty who turns the wheels of times. If only you can believe, you will receive.

Scripture: So the Lord said, “If you have faith as a mustard seed, you can say to this mulberry tree, ‘Be pulled up by the roots and be planted in the sea,’ and it would obey you. Luke 17:6.

Prayer: Dear Lord, may my faith in You and Your Word grow with, not be shrunk by, the challenges that come my way, amen.
