Faith is the driver of hope. Hope, the van
That carries dreams to reality:
Without this vehicle, you can’t arrive
Without the driver, the van is useless;
Faithfully, fervently, unfailingly, faith drives
Persistence to fulfilment; may be through
Rough mountains and trying valleys
Yet faith delivers as promised. But some ride
On empty tanks, blaming faith for failing
Yet, to all, who fill up, day by day,
Faith wakes refreshed, with energizing mercy
Steadily persevering as fear competes, seeking
To oust, to drive hope through disappointments
To destruction. Words are fuel: as wrong words
Inspire fear, starving faith, so truth fuels faith,
Choking fear; ears the hose, heart the tank:
Full – it’s ready; sturdy before the storm,
Resisting, triumphing, delivering the persistent
Despite terrains and seasons: nourished
It flourishes while poisons leave others famished,
Faltering like a blade of grass, ferried about
By the wind: word by word, day by day
Ears of the diligent feed their faith robust.
Food For Thought: Those who understand the power of spoken words have used it to many ends. While some have been empowered to do the impossible by it, many have been brainwashed and led astray via the same tactics. There is power in words and depending on our position at the time those words are spoken, and the position of the speaker relative to us, words can make and words can destroy. A lot of times, we try to take back our words but truth is that a word released is gone and won’t come back no matter how many times we try to take it back. In fact, saying we are taking it back only fosters it. The only way to take back words that should not have been uttered is to speak truth over them until the power of truth overcomes and overtakes that soil. The hearts of men are soils and words are seeds; watch what you sow and watch what others sow in your own soil.
Scripture: So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. Romans 10: 17.
Prayer: Dear Lord, give me ears that itch for Your Word and by these, may my faith flourish, fruitful in every good way, amen.
