Faith issues, like eye problems, shape
Perception and appreciation of realities.
Storms are raging, tongues are rising,
Clashing, contradicting His word
Challenging faith, daring us to dare
To believe that we will receive as promised;
Small issues jump up the scale, magnifying
Themselves above seemingly shrinking truth.
Sight makes hope faint, prompting dreams
To lose focus and crash: yet we must choose
To cling with our all, to cling with our last
On the promised truth or threatening lies.
We must choose who to believe; the Word of God
The tongues of men, or clashing waves around
The choice is ours, the end as well
For without faith, hope cannot abide.
Faith inspires hope to incubate dreams
Until they hatch into realities: today
My utmost duty is, to guard my heart
And jealously guard my faith!
Food For Thought: I embarked on this interesting and sobering time of waiting on the Lord. Then His Words began pouring upon my soul; reviving, refreshing, exciting, and filling me with joy unspeakable. My confidence spiked despite contradicting circumstances; I came into that place of knowing beyond any shadow of doubt that God is actively involved in my present and will perfect the future just as He has promised. Then the waves surged, tongues clashed and I was struck. Suddenly I was down, wondering as joy seeped away. But I have been down for so long and I wanted out and up so bad. There and then, I had to make the choice, to sift through the tongues, take whatever truth I can find therein, face it and deal with it, and let the trash go. We have to make the choice, to ignore the voices of those who know so little of who we truly are, where we are coming from, and where we are headed. We have to make the choice to believe the Word of Him who made us, who has brought us past countless impossibilities, who alone also is able to establish every outstanding promise. More than ever before, we must guard our hearts and jealously contend for our faith and our joy, in God and His Word because if the promise must come to pass, we must believe it with all our hearts.
Scripture: Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Hebrews 11: 3.
Prayer: Dear Lord, no matter the issue, the talking, the timing and weather, let my faith rest in You; ever true, ever fervent. amen.
