When we didn’t know how much
Was lost in Eden, God knew.
When we didn’t care, what awaited
The end of our inglorious affairs
God cared enough to humble Himself;
Set aside His God-hood, put on
Despicable garbs of humanity,
Almighty allowed Himself to be weak
Creator allowed Himself to be treated
Like nothing, by His creation:
Simply because He cared too much
To look the other way.
When we chose to go our way
God cared too much to sit content
And let the condemned waste away.

Food for Thought: I fear to imagine, what would have been our lot, if God had not cared enough. If God humbled Himself this much to win us, and the world is yet this evil, what would have been the case if none of us was saved? What manner of world would this have been if Christ had not died? I fear to imagine.

Prayer: Dear Lord, when those and things around me go up and down, stay my heart on the truth that Your care for me, amen.
