God’s ways are not popular routes
They can be lonesome tours yet our choices
To run with the crowd o
r stand with Him
Who knows more t
han them all put together
To fill our hearts w
ith His Word; to hear as
He says, s
ee as He sees, do as He commands.
Yes, it’s our choice, to take the hand of Him
Who knows the way from start to end
To follow Him one step at a time, knowing
W
hat we say is what we see and what we see
Is what we get, so we can hear what He says
And speak same, see what He’s set for us
And do what He asks to get us there
Because it is impossible to find the Way
Without sight or find ordained help
Without faith; indeed it is impossible
To walk with God without faith.

Food For Thought: We want to be identified with those we like for various reasons. Maybe because we admire their styles and achievements, we appreciate their choices and results, we dream of what they already possess, or based on what we see, we just want to be like them. We tend to shy away from whatever will make us stand out as sore thumbs. We would rather go with the popular. Yet, those who must walk with God have to learn that God’s way is not always popular; it can appear unexciting and often lonely. We are delighted when God’s command to us is confirmed here and there. In fact, the more the confirmations we get, the better and safer we feel to execute. Nevertheless, there are and will continue to be, times when no one else will hear what we heard, see what we have seen, to believe what we are hoping for. It is exciting when God confirms His Word to us through those around but I have also learned in very painful ways, that God will hold each of us accountable for words and assignments committed to us, which we chose to discard because nobody would confirm or agree with us. Don’t be afraid to stand alone, to walk by yourself: God is always there to deliver to the end on every promise He has made.

Scripture: For all the land which you see I give to you and your descendants forever. Genesis 13: 15.

Prayer: Dear Lord, open my ears to hear what you say, my heart to believe them, and my eyes to see what you want me to see, amen.
