Eyes see the visible, faith the invisible
Ears hear the natural, faith the spiritual
Hearts chase facts, faith the truth;
It is impossible to build eternal on facts
That falter and fail ever so often
Whose shapes and ends depend on when,
How and who handles and hands them out
But truth is timeless, never changes
No matter when, how and who deals it.
Anytime, anywhere, any day, anyhow
Truth remains the same; though faith
Be shaken, truth sustains till it recovers:
On foundation of truth, build and rest.
Food For Thought: We like to get the facts straight; the closer from the horse’s mouth, the higher the likelihood of accuracy. It implies that the farther from source, the more facts are tainted and subject to error. Facts depend on many factors and often, how they are delivered is not exactly how they come across. The delivery of each man, of the same fact, is bound to vary. Considering these, how stable will a structure whose foundations are facts be? Determining factors vary so the margin of error can become overwhelming. Facts are sands and no structure set on sandy foundations will last. Facts are helpful but they have their place and shouldn’t be allotted the place of truth. Unchanging, unfailing, unending, truth is the only sure foundation on which to build our faith and our lives if we truly hope for it to count in eternity.
Scripture: The words of the Lord are pure words, like silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Psalm 12: 6.
Prayer: Dear Lord, in all I do, may my faith, my words, and my works, rest on Your unfailing Word, amen.
