“You’ll own homes you didn’t build
Eat bread you didn’t bake
Drink from wells you didn’t dig
Harvest crops you didn’t plant
Enjoy rest without fail,” easy
To believe until test of faith appears.
Without faith, it is impossible
To access the supernatural.
Without faith, it is impossible
To live the reality of God’s promises.
Only faith in Almighty God can deliver
Much more than work bequeaths
Much more than flesh and blood
Can ever earn for us.
Food For Thought: I have met a lot of people who believe they can name and claim whatever they desire. Like God is a genie whose only duty is to show up with whatever they demand, to do as they command. From God’s Word and from experience however, I learned that wisdom is profitable to direct. God has a plan and purpose for each of us and any naming and claiming outside that, He is not obliged to attend. Even within His plan and purpose, there are times and seasons for each. Every Word of His promise is for us all but at different points in time, God leads us by our faith, to places we may not have imagined, to do things we can’t on our own. When God leads, He makes the way for His Word to come to pass. Unfortunately that is not so when we decide to run our show. I have equally seen many disappointed by naming and claiming, enough to know that we need not set ourselves up for failure. May wisdom guide our hearts to nurture our relationship with God so that we are sensitive to know which direction He is leading us, the provisions He has supplied, and how best we are to use them. When we speak in His Name, according to His will for us, God shows up but when we dash out on our own, He awaits our learning and return. By faith, nothing is impossible but that faith must be aligned with God’s Word and timing for us.
Scripture: By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible. Hebrews 11: 3.
Prayer: Dear Lord, strengthen my faith in You, preserve my faith in Your Word, amen.
