Our ways are not His ways
Our times are not His times;
He is strong, we are frail
He errs not but we fail
Forever He is the same
Every day we change
His purpose is established
Times and events alter ours
We may lie, He cannot
We will die, He does not
He makes, we’re made
We’re time bound: He’s eternal
He is God, we are men;
You are God, there is no other
You are God, there’ll be no other.

Food For Thought: In our world, it is said that likes attract. No, don’t argue with me: it is in physics that opposites attract. Naturally, we are drawn to what is closest to us, touched by what is deepest to us. And we naturally tend toward anyone or anything that bears resemblance to those that are dearest to us. However, with God, it is not so. His ways are so high up there and ours are so down here yet, He won’t let us be. Love unfailing, constrains our Abba’s heart, to continually build bridges of love in order to reach us, be with us, and help us. Typically, it is the person in need that should reach for help but we are so steeped in our needs that we don’t know any better. Many don’t know God. You can’t miss what you don’t know. Because many don’t know love, they don’t know what they miss. What Desperate love compels God to become like us, just so He can hang with us, roll with us, yet remain unsoiled by our sins? What desperate love the Father has lavished on us His children! And why? So that we can go out into the world of which we are not, and reach out to others who are where we once were, with this desperate love that stoops to conquer without being soiled or overcome. God’s love for us commands our love for others.

Prayer: Dear Lord, when intimacy with You puts us on the same spot, may I never forget that I am but man and You alone are God Almighty, amen.
