God’s promises are catalysts
And faith like magnets, draw
Them into believing souls
Where the harmonious blend
Empowers the believer to march
Forward discounting dangers,
Confident in the faithfulness
Of the Leader who never misses
Trusting the steadfastness
Of the Keeper who never fails
Who also is able to do and give
Beyond requests and imaginations.

Food For Thought: God gave me a beautiful promise so many years ago. It has been more than twenty years and that promise is yet to come to pass. I recall years back when I was communing with the Lord about something else and He brought back this promise that I had decided to forget so that I don’t feel bad, delayed or denied. That day, when the Lord rekindled His promise on that same sore subject, I couldn’t hold still. I went, “Lord please, please, please. No more promises, please. Leave that matter alone. I am not worshipping or serving You because of that. I am not here because of that. I love You for You and I am content where I am so please don’t take me back there. Don’t raise my hopes again. Do it whenever You get to it but let’s not talk about this again.” It reminds me of Abraham who had to wait for decades, for a son that people have without even wanting to. Why it takes God so long I don’t know but I did learn why God revisits those ancient promises. We won’t get to the Promised Land by sweeping the promise under the shelf because they have tarried too long. No matter how long it takes, God wants us to be mindful of these promises, to keep believing despite seeming delays, to live expectant no matter how long it takes because without faith, many have lost their ways and missed their portion in the Promise.

Scripture: Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us. Ephesians 3: 20.

Prayer: Dear Lord, help me to use my faith, to grow in it and by it until I become fruitful, and may my fruits endure, amen.
