No man ever lost His way
Following in God’s steps
None can miss His promises
Following His lead.
No matter how it appears
God’s ways are perfect
Even when it makes no sense
His timings ideal.
Choosing our ways and times
We miss God, we get lost:
Every day comes
With fresh chances
And behind every choice
A consequence we can’t detach.
Food For Thought: Life’s choices come with consequences that are often not considered when these choices are picked off the shelf. I am yet to see anyone bailed by ignorance or excuses, reasonable or not, from such consequences. Life’s pressures tend to hurry our decisions regardless of consequences but it pays to consider before we conclude. Excuses may abound at the time as to why we should go one way as against another but those excuses cannot exonerate us from the associated outcomes of our decisions. We can’t blame it on time, on pressure, on God, on anyone or anything for that matter. We will live with the consequences despite whatever justifications that may have spurred those decisions. The spate of changes we experience these days and the extent of insanity and instability playing out further complicate simple decisions and leave us short. More than ever before, we need help, we need guidance to beat churning surprises of times and tides. We need God to help us see beyond prevailing events and make choices that will stand the test of time: decisions whose consequences we can live with and thrive in.
Scripture: “Behold, I set before you today a blessing and a curse.” Deuteronomy 11: 26.
Prayer: Dear Lord, grant me the wisdom to choose right, to choose truth, and to choose well, amen.
