What great a gift is grace!
What great a gift to access
For free, for one and for all;
Salvation, deliverance and healing,
Restoration to wholeness, to holiness:,
Anything good, everything great
Receivable by faith because of grace;
That I can put my faith to work
That my offerings are acceptable
And my labor counts before God.
Take grace out and we are done
Add grace in and life is green
So great a gift bestowed on us!
How great a lift from death to life!

Food For Thought: I shudder to imagine life without grace! Even with the abundance of God’s grace, living is a tough adventure. Noble intentions end in dishonor. The innocent suffer injustice. The wicked get away unpunished. Not one but many of us have been favored where we would have been disqualified, risen through trials and triumphed where others failed. We know joy and enjoy peace not because we have worked for it. We are enjoying the free gift from God that adds splendor to ordinary life. If not for grace, many of us will not be where we are today: what a gift, what a lift! Brimming in God’s grace, humanity still misses and loses it and there is terror everywhere. What would life have been if there was no grace at all; in my life, home, vicinity, and in the world at large? This should comfort us in the face of seeming hopeless depravity that currently runs the world: life would have been worse than it is today if not for the grace of God.

Scripture: But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace toward me was not in vain; but I labored more abundantly than they all, yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me. 1 Corinthians 15: 10.

Prayer: Dear Lord, thank You for the gift of grace, and all that it accomplishes in my life, amen.
