To everything God allows
There is a plan, there is a purpose.
God’s role is to lead, ours to follow.
Focused on the pain, we miss the purpose
Counting losses, we miss His plan.
In His hands, in His time, God’s Grace
Compensates: more than we can imagine
When we trust and obey, God’s Grace
Always proves more than enough for us.
Food For Thought: I recall in elementary school, I had a friend who had a problem with one of her arms. I can’t tell what exactly it was but it meant her arm was hanging in a way that was different from the rest of ours. Guess what? No, I didn’t bully her. I wanted my hand like hers! Yes, I didn’t understand the condition. Yes, it wasn’t normal. Yes, I felt sorry for her. And yes, I just wanted my hand like that! Why? Because it was just different. I prayed fervently to God every night to please make my hand like that. When I am alone, I let my hand hang like hers. I hadn’t the courage to do it before my mum: I may not have survived the encounter. I also couldn’t display that before my friend because she’d be hurt and would never understand that I didn’t envy her, I didn’t want to be her or like her, I just wanted my arm to hang like hers – you can’t explain that right? If God answered all our prayers! Was I disappointed when that prayer wasn’t answered my way? Of course! Was I happy that from day to day despite my prayers and faith in the God who can do all things, my arm didn’t hang permanently despite my practices? Step back and look at me today, do I want one of my arms hanging? Definitely not! I am grateful that God works with purpose irrespective of how we perceive them at the time. Thank God He doesn’t pander to our every request, what a chaos life would have been?
Scripture: If you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land. Isaiah 1: 19.
Prayer: Dear Lord, may understanding of Your purpose, preserve my heart through seasons of ignorance and seeming disappointments, amen.
