When you encounter favor
That cannot be explained
When you jam goodness
With no justification
Don’t call it an accident
Don’t label it coincidence
For so, many have written
Off their miracles
For thus, many have written
Off their chances for change:
When they claim it just happened
Know that Someone made it happen.

Food For Thought: Some people have made up their minds that miracles are history so they don’t expect or recognize them. If anything extraordinary happens, they would rather assign it an accident or a coincidence than acknowledge the divine behind the natural. To some others, the only things that qualify as miraculous are the walking on water and raising the dead-kind of deeds. Yet every day, God works behind the scenes, exploiting the routines of life to rewrite the stories of those who are sensitive to pick the finger of the Almighty in the silent stirrings, gentle whispers, and seemingly petty shifts taking place all around us. My prayer is that we don’t for itch of the colossal, miss the undeniable moves of God within and around us because it is those little kicks that prep us for the mighty shifts, which we are bound to miss if we are not equipped to recognize and appreciate them.

Prayer: Dear Lord, may I never write off any experience as an accident because You planned my life from the beginning and You know every step that I take, amen.
