Those who feel entitled go about
Grabbing with both hands
Forcing their assumptions on others
Demanding all, giving naught.
Those who feel undeserving
Stand by and watch life go by
Not asking, not seeking, chasing
Conformance, far from contentment.
Those who know whose they are
And where they are headed
Take a stand, sink their roots deep
Spread their branches wide
Take what life serves, and turn
Them into savory sauces.
Those who know, marry diligence
To their commitments, to savor
The beauty of being alive.
Do you know whose you are?
Food For Thought: The costs and consequences of ignorance are incredible. As if those are not bad enough, no one is ever excused because they don’t know what they are supposed to know. And it is one thing to know, and yet another thing to live in the full enjoyment of what you know. God opened such a door of favor to me and I just wouldn’t use it. Why? Because it didn’t seem fair. I didn’t work for it. It didn’t make sense. I couldn’t explain or justify it. Great as the opportunity appeared, it was just unbelievable. No, it wasn’t anything bad or illegal, just one of those things you consider too good to be true. And so something that would have brought joyful relief had me struggling until God used a close friend who totally saw God’s hand in it all, to clear the clouds that held me from accepting and enjoying Abba’s favor. We all pray for grace and when it comes, we forget whose we are and sometimes miss our miracles. But those who know don’t struggle, they don’t fight for or with it: they welcome God’s graciousness with thankful hearts.
Scripture: He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper. Psalm 1: 3.
Prayer: Dear Lord, may I grow in the knowledge of You, and may my life flourish, bearing lasting fruits in You, amen.
