It’s not about you and me
This life is but vapor:
We brought nothing in
We take nothing out.
It’s not about times and things
Which often come and go
All we meet here, we leave here
Whatever starts here ends here.
But we have a beginning
Way beyond now and here;
Our beginning is Him, in Him.
Go high or low, gain all or naught
It is not about us or any of those
It’s all about the King;
His Kingdom, His will, His way
And as we live for His glory
God meets our ordinary needs
In extraordinary ways.
Food For Thought: I have worked for myself and the result is sad. While many think that all they need is money, I confess that you can have all the money in this world but without purpose, you will be more miserable than those that have nothing. Money is not an end, it is a means. When you have the means and you know not the end, you will miss it. I have found that the greatest joy come from things that have very little to do with money. The best blessings don’t come from wealth, earned or inherited for even with those, many lives have been and will continue to be ruined. Our deepest pleasures come from finding God’s purpose for our lives and channeling His blessings accordingly. It might entail a lot of work yet it will be fun. It may not bring us much yet we will know fulfillment. Being rich or poor has nothing to do with having or not having money. It is all tied to purpose. Those who live purpose though they have nothing are among the richest and happiest people to come across. Those around them wonder how they can be so impoverished and yet so joyful and generous whereas those who appear to have it all are clawing for more and fearful of losing what they have. Life is not about us. It is not about what we get and make and eat and drink. It is so much more. It is about the King who made us, who called us, who saved us, who fills us so He can use us to His praise and glory. In God’s hands, we flourish irrespective of what we lack or have.
Scripture: But the Lord is in His holy temple. Let all the earth keep silence before Him. Habakkuk 2: 20.
Prayer: Dear Lord, may I never esteem me or any other, above You: in all I do, keep my focus on You, amen.
