If God waited for me
To be good enough for His love
Eternity would find Him waiting still.
God came loving, believing
That with me, there is hope.
I won’t wait until I am good enough
To believe in God
I won’t wait until I am good enough
To believe in me:
With all my heart I’ll love the Lord
Today, now, just as I am, where I am.
With all I have I’ll serve the King:
His glory, my target, now and ever.
I’ll live for Him despite my flaws;
For every breath that I receive
I’ll breathe back out my praise to You
With every gift I will bow and offer
My worship at the foot of the cross
For great and mighty is my King
Great and mighty are His ways
For as long as I live, my every breath
Will arise: vapors of praise everlasting.

Food For Thought: I was hurt by something someone did and while I was doing the painful analysis, mercy knocked on the door of my heart and turned the light on me. Yes, I saw that this person is far from perfect, and so also am I. How does God put up with us every day when we can barely bear each other’s flaws? Yet, it is in the face of these flaws that the testimony of God’s loves shines the brightest; flaws that we can and cannot help; those that we can help but sometimes won’t; those we should kick and yet indulge; those we are ignorant of and yet are undeniably there. The memory of God’s mercies upon us should make us more thankful toward God and tenderer with one another. It makes life not just bearable but much more enjoyable. He didn’t wait for us to be fitting in order to love us. He didn’t demand that we meet up before He showed us mercy. God loved us flawed as we are, shows us mercy just as we are, so we can reach up to Him in praise just as we are, and reach out to others who are flawed as we are, with His flawless love. And I discover that it is easier to love others when our hearts brim with praise for all He has done for us. May our every breath be vapors of praise and gratitude to Him who loves us so!

Scripture: Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise the Lord! Psalm 150: 6.

Prayer: Dear Lord, let my every breath rise up to You, pleasing aromas of praise, amen.
