At last, I eased my mind of all
The clamoring worries, rested my heart
My head and my cares, in the care of Him
Who came so far for me; who gave all He is
Who gave all of His, for all of me; no more
Scheming and straying. I resolved to listen
To honor and to obey, for as long as I live
This Great Shepherd the like of whom
I found not anywhere in all the times
I wandered, lost in the ways of my choices.

Food For Thought: We often deem what we have less valuable than theirs. Their house is fancier, his car is finer, her job is preferred, his boss is kinder, her husband is richer, his wife is prettier, their children are smarter. Everyone else’s always appear so much better than ours. Serving one master and eyeing the other because we are not content with ours. In the course of comparing what others have against ours, we see what only appears from a distance and conclude their lives are easier and cozier. That is why many have thrashed their treasures, to create room for what they admired from a distance only to get close and realize that the former was so much better. How many children feel their parents are mean, their lives are hard? How many couples are convinced their spouses were mistakes? My prayer for you is that you don’t lose what you have to realize its value. May you embrace your blessing with understanding and appreciation.
