Like the seed that must die to live
I quit fighting death, I quit chasing life
I dropped all I counted gains and losses
I abandoned all I wanted and all I clung to:
Who takes those to the grave? Now I know
Better: no one. No one lives except He saves
No one thrives except He helps.
He is God, He can choose to save or not
He is good whether He saves or not
I reached into the eye of the storm
Once dreaded and therein found peace
As I surrendered all I am and have
To Him whose goodness is neither
Defined nor flawed by His choices or mine.
Food For Thought: The more we know God, the better we understand His ways. The better we understand His ways, the easier it is to align to His will. We struggle with God’s will when we know no better. Understanding engenders cooperation and our walk with God becomes an enjoyable adventure rather than endurable suffering. Knowledge of God’s Word floods our hearts with wisdom because then we know what we should, and we are better positioned to do what we ought. Ignorance holds no profitable dividends for anyone irrespective of the sphere. Whereas knowledge empowers, ignorance robs and destroys. We are better off when we know. If you are interested in Science, you don’t learn science by focusing on social studies. You narrow your search in the direction of your interest to satisfy your curiosity. The key to growing our knowledge of God is through His Word. As we soak in His Word, we are immersed, more and more into God and His ways. As we behold the glory radiating in His Word, our lives are enlightened and our faces reflect the glory of God within. As we learn God, we understand that we and our experiences cannot define or limit God. As we see God as He is in His Word, we learn, we align, and our lives bear fruit that of a truth, we know, and in His peace, we rest.
Scripture: I am the Lord, and there is no other; there is no God besides Me. I will gird you, though you have not known Me. Isaiah 45: 5.
Prayer: Dear Lord, teach me to find my business and mind it, and to trust that You are well able to mind all that is in Your care, according to Your eternal purpose and plan, amen.
