When I beheld what I have become
Not on my own as I pleased myself
Not in my ways as I came and went
When I beheld what I have become
In the Hands of the Master, I bowed
And from the very depths of who I am
From the very depths of all I have
From the very depths of all my dreams
From the very depths of hope and life
I gushed all out, laid them bare;
I gave me up, laid me there
At the feet of Him who once I doubted
At the feet of Him who once I queried
At the feet of Him who once I fought
At the feet of Him who once I thought
I loved and lost: my spirit in truth
Worshipped, knowing that come life or death
I am His and He is mine. Without a doubt
Without prompting or fear: I worshipped.
Food For Thought: There are times prayer becomes a struggle. Wanting to or not, we know we ought to pray but we just don’t know what to say. We don’t know where to start and how to just get it done. Same goes with worship. We all know we ought to worship. Sometimes we just get into the flow and go with it. Some others, getting down to it could be a challenge. Then there are those times when our hearts are so full and out of that overflow, worship breaks forth spontaneously. Without triggers and catalysts, without organizers and prompters; unaided, unhindered, worship flows from the very depths of our being and floods the throne of the Most High. That is how our everyday should be; spontaneous in worship, fervent and devoted, touching the very heart of the Father who blesses us so! When we focus on the challenges that overwhelm us, we wear out and struggle with the good we ought to embrace. When we are able to look beyond all the bustles and hassles, and focus on the greatness and the goodness of Him who always is in us, for us, and with us, prayer becomes easier and worship a lifestyle. May our meditations of Him be sweet and may worship become our culture.
Scripture: Oh come, let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before the Lord our Maker. Psalm 95: 6.
Prayer: Dear Lord, when I let my worries and cares roll away, though my world falls apart, I see You as You are, and I know that my place is not out there fixing a broken world: it’s at Your feet, worshiping, following, wherever, however You may lead. Amen.
