In the beginning, when I was made
It was not according to my plan
In time when I was saved
It was not according to my plan
In places where I am blessed
It is not according to my plan
In the end if I make it
It won’t be according to my plan
Because life and salvation
Blessing and expiration
None is according to me
None is according to my plan:
It’s all about You O God
It’s all according to Your plan.
Food For Thought: Some of us think we can plan life the way we plan events. Even for events, there are things beyond our control like changes in weather and in circumstances of others whose contributions are bound to influence the outcome of such plans. And that is a simple event no matter how glamorous it may be. An event that starts one minute and ends the next. If such beats our planning skills, how much more life itself? Wake up, our lives are not products of our plans. Should we therefore do away with planning? Not at all. It is essential for us to know that we are not blessed because of how well we planned, neither is our success a result of our performance. Some have done so much more than we have and are not any better. It is good to plan. It is great to manage the things under our control. It is wisdom to know that there are things beyond our capability, and to trust that God with whom nothing is impossible will step in where we can’t. Only a fool says in His heart that there is no God. There are many who call upon God but live like He does not exist and have no power over life’s events. If you know that there is God, if you trust that He can do what He says He can in His Word, then make room for Him in your life and plan. Let your plans and pursuits reflect the God you believe in.
Scripture: In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Genesis 1:1.
Prayer: Dear Lord, I was not there in the beginning when You planned and made it all: I don’t know how You keep and sustain it all: help me to trust that You who have kept creation going till date is able to perfect what You have started in me, amen.
