I am so mad with God! So mad I can combust
In my fury! He sold me this adventure. No,
I wasn’t forced to buy but I didn’t ask for this:
I bought it because He is God, He never fails
And here I am, all the way down, alone
Far from home, far from help and God?
Nowhere to be found or heard. Here I am stuck
Spent, and God? Nowhere around, no help or hope.
For Him, I drew a perfect plan. For Him I gave all
I had. For Him I did all I could. Now spent and stuck
Calling – no answer. Sinking, reaching – no anchor
Hungry, thirsting, yearning – no way out ahead
How can God do this to me of all?
Food For Thought: I cannot imagine any one of us who has never been disappointed by somebody. I wonder who has never felt disappointment toward God. Maybe His fear restrains us from getting angry with Him whom we cannot control or hurt, but who has never tasted that feeling of being let down by the Almighty? As life deals its blows on us, it is critical that we know where we stand; with God or against Him. God is for us if are with Him. Unlike the rest of the people and things we know, He doesn’t start what He can’t finish. He doesn’t promise and fail to deliver. Always true to His Word, always at hand, and always on time. When disappointments strike, it is not only dangerous, it is unprofitable to turn our anger at God. It pays to look inward first, to weigh ourselves and our ways to see where we have missed it and take correction. If it is not anything we have done wrong, then patience should be our friend as we turn toward and not against God. If you turn against the only One who can and who will help you, how do you hope to fare? We may hear and see people rail against God and get away with it, that doesn’t mean we will if we try. When things don’t go as planned, trust that God cares, that He is with you, and that He is working it all together for good. If you can’t rust God, who else will you count on that wouldn’t fail?
Scripture: So then, as my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath. James 1: 19.
Prayer: Dear Lord, help me to understand, that whether I feel You, see You, or not, You are always there with me: always there for me, irrespective of what my senses proclaim or deny, amen.
