I was looking up, hoping for a mighty miracle
To drive me out of mire. Every moment was
A struggle, every step in pain but from one step
To another, progress was registered in my name
How? I cannot tell. When I finally emerged
I looked back in marvel, “How did I make it
This far?” Slowly, certainly, it dawned;
While hoping for the landing of my mega miracle;
In every step I took, in every pain I bore
In every struggle braved, through every moment
In the mire, were countless specks of miracles
That worked my ultimate triumph.
Food For Thought: In the beginning, God had His Word and a chaotic world. Beauty and order replaced formless disorder because He declared it without doubt and it stands till date. Faith spoke contrary to obviously adverse conditions and it became the reality that evicted contrarieties – that is how God wants us to live. When circumstances are more real than our faith in God’s Word, we will be easily overwhelmed. God hasn’t asked us to be Abraham, but if we can cast our cares on Him and live one day at a time, our daily doses of grace will prove more than enough. Behind the wheels of our impatience and compromises is seated the monster fear. We are afraid of tomorrow so we worry today away. What are you afraid of? We unconsciously attract our fears. Mistakes we dread eventually catch up with us despite the faith masks. When fear drives our actions, we are bound to be stranded where we feared the most. Grace suffices for each day. Quit worrying about tomorrow, God is able to give exceedingly, abundantly, above all that we can ever imagine or ask. When we trust and obey, it eliminates the rush factor and makes us best of friends with patience. It reveals that we are not only able to handle current challenges, it also highlights our capability to maintain and sustain whatever we gain in the process. Thank God for miraculous interventions but victory gained through patience proves we are ready. It also announces that we are reliable and trustworthy custodians who will not disappoint or desert when faced with post-victory pressures.
Scripture: But the righteousness of faith speaks in this way, “Do not say in your heart, ‘Who will ascend into heaven?” (that is, to bring Christ down from above). Romans 10: 6.
Prayer: Dear Lord, may I not take the little blessings of everyday for granted because I am waiting for some big one: may I live appreciative of the blessing in every single moment, amen.
