The lofty stooped and scooped up sand
Mixed, matched, fashioned a form
That looks and lives and thrives like Him
And He called it man: this is our God!

Sovereign Creator and Master of life
Without beginning, without ending
Emptied Himself of godliness, to become
Like creation, to save it: this is our God!

Almighty bowed, suffering, shame and death
Abba heaved; pain, sorrow and loss: The Lion
Stood, roared, death and grave acquitted Life
Victims turned army of saints: this is our God!

Fugitive with nothing but staff and list of offences.
Death hovered at home, uncertainty chased abroad.
They met, life switched: schemer turned a saint
The lonely, father of nations: this is our God!

Woman by the well, fleeing home and heart troubles
Ran back rejoicing, declaring, “This is our God!”
Violent terrorist, home a graveyard, jammed Him
Returned sane and safe, preaching, “This is our God!”

Discount location and condition, everyone He met
Never the same, still sang the same: this is our God!
Yesterday, today or tomorrow, whatever I face
Won’t be the same as I sing the same: this our God!

Scriptures are filled with awe inspiring wonders that God worked through the ages. The stories seem surreal but show clearly, what the God we serve can do. They were documented by people like us, whom God selected to be witnesses of supernatural displays, to build our faith in the unchanging God. Nothing in life is certain except death which is appointed for everyone. We need some constants in the face of incessant changes that besiege our quest for stability. We need guarantees. We need Someone true, sure and steady to build our lives on so we can become true and sure and steady despite assaulting changes. God is the only guarantee we have that cannot fail.

Other gods were and are being created by imperfect people. They are as dead as whatever they were made of.  Their ways as uncertain as their makers. Here today, gone tomorrow, like those who worship them. But there is one God who was there before time began. His days have no ending. He called the earth into being and created all that was and is and ever will be – all for His pleasure. The earth is His footstool. He is everywhere, every time. Angels are His servants. They call Him King of the Universe, God of all creation. His name is Almighty, All-Holy, All-Worthy. All power in heaven, on earth and beyond is His. Everything is His and He is everything.

May this God keep you and your loved ones in His perfect peace today and always. Amen.

Blessings.
Glory!
