When my focus is behind, present makes no sense
Faith falters, hope hurts, great future diminishes
Grasshoppers appear as giants, certainties
Of routine slavery re-emerge; more appealing
Uncertainties becloud sure promises that now
Appear impossible, elusive, because reality
Is wanting in faith: we have to believe to receive.
Like our Father, we call things that be not until
Our eyes confirm what our hearts knows is true.
Food For Thought: Life will be tougher than it appears if we have to go by what we see alone. It feels good to see the things around us but how does sight help our faith? With God, we learn that the things that be were not made from things that exist. What existed in the beginning was chaos. Nevertheless, God began to call into being, the very things He had purposed. A lot of us in attempt to emulate God have gone claiming things that have us rather disappointed than fulfilled. If we want to call those things that be not and experience them in our realities, we have to learn what God says concerning each situation, discern His timing and ensure that we are speaking accordingly, not contrary. When we locate God’s Word for each situation and speak in line with what He has already promised, we don’t feel compelled to make it happen. God is obligated to bring His Word to pass. However, when we go claiming contrary to His Word and His will for us, disappointment is bound to be the result. As we strive to be like Jesus, may we learn to know Him, to love what He loves, say what He says, that we may truly live like Him and enjoy being partners in calling His creation into being.
Scripture: But we are not of those who draw back to perdition, but of those who believe to the saving of the soul. Hebrews 10: 39
Prayer: Dear Lord, may my trust, my hope, and my dreams, be founded on You and Your Word that never fades or fails, amen.
