Life sometimes appear as puzzles, littered here
And there, confusing, springing now and then
Confounding. I lay out a neat plan to fix this puzzle
But it falls off my hands, smattering into miserable
Pieces, frustrating good intentions and hard labor.
“Will I ever get it right?” I ask. “Will my efforts ever
Amount to much?” The world is pushing for results
Families and friends and everyone, clamoring, critical
Of my flops. In a world that is ever exacting, demanding
More, demeaning more, is there anyone out there
Who knows the weight of the cross I bear? Heaven smiles
And in the clouds I read it clear, “God understands.”
Food For Thought: For some people, loneliness has become the grave wherein they have buried themselves. They’d give anything to have someone bug them about just anything. Unfortunately, one can be lost and alone in a crowd; no listening ears to relieve the piling pressures within; no shoulder on which to share the burdens of life; no extra hand to help them to keep holding on; no support from any one or anywhere. Families and friends are blessings that can become head and heart and tummy aches. Sometimes, we get so crowded there is little or no time for ourselves as we run helter skelter, attending the myriad needs around. We get so consumed by others’ issues that spent, we are unable to attend ours. Some are giving all they can but their all appear as nothing before grand demands. Some are giving their best which is not at all appreciated. Some are so tired of giving and long to stop but can’t because like a bottomless pit, the needs keep mounting, demanding. So it turns from day to day we run from pillar to post dealing needs and at the end, needs are not met, our efforts are not esteemed, and we are not satisfied. We must tell ourselves the truth that there is no end to human wants; we are not God who can do all things and meet all needs; we can only do what we can. Loved ones are blessings that must be managed accordingly. They are gifts to be grateful for. It may not be their fault that we are stressed. It may not be their fault that we feel alone though surrounded. Whatever your own situation may be, you can rest assured that Someone knows; Someone who is always there for you; Someone who is there not because of what He can get but because He truly cares. He is there because He understands and wants you to know that. God truly understand.
Scripture: For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Jeremiah 29: 11.
Prayer: Dear Lord, when it seems like everyone is demanding and demeaning and no one understands, preserve me in Your perfect peace, knowing that You have walked my path, felt my pain, and are my ever present help and guide, amen.
