Be not deceived, no one – young or old, high and low,
Owns knowledge. Understanding follows seekers
To whom insatiable quest deliver more than
The nonchalant can imagine. Hunger is the funnel
For a seeker, harvest a measure of persistent diligence
For the patient who wears hope gracefully.
Be not deceived, knowledge is only scare
To the ignorant- unwilling to pay the price.
Wisdom snubs the foolish but seekers
Are not easily seduced or deceived;
They pause before they jump
They think before the start.
Food for Thought: We live in times when men are in such a hurry to make it in life. Contentment has become rare commodity as the quest for more drives men through indignities of greed and ambitiousness. The majority would rather take the shortest course to their desired destination and unknown to them, they miss essential lessons lining the seemingly long and tasking route. God knows what we need and has made sufficient provision along our travel paths. When we circumvent processes, we may arrive earlier to the applause and envy of observers, yet we have inadvertently denied ourselves, the inestimable impartations and associated improvement, waiting on the paths we avoided. Any wonder people go so far then commit unpardonable blunders that even novices would have seen ahead and managed much better? Be not deceived: contrary to popular opinions, taking short cuts doesn’t make you smarter. In reality, it robs. Short cuts leave us shorter in more ways than the instant achievements they promise.
Scripture: Sow for yourselves righteousness; reap in mercy; break up your fallow ground, for it is time to seek the Lord, till He comes and rains righteousness on you. Hosea 10: 12.
Prayer: Dear Lord, in those times that I am tempted to evade the truth in preference for quick returns, grant me the wisdom to look beyond pressures, to pay with patience, the right price for what I seek, amen.
