All of God’s is good but every good’s not of God
God’s goodness is not random but purposeful
Doesn’t fluctuate or confuse; but true, consistent.
Not every good is God’s will for you, nobody
Excels dabbling into every good: the outstanding
Find one thing and give it their all. Had Jesus
Followed every good that came His way
He’d be lost on earth: He sought, He found
He stayed only with goods Abba ordained for Him.
To find, you must seek – in seeking, the heart is taught
Enabled, to perceive and receive purpose, however
It appears. Many miss it, many thrash it because
Purpose doesn’t show up as expected. In a world
Where many are lost in ‘do-good’ forest; competing,
Comparing, only those who know the Father
Can look beyond appealing distractions, to see
What Father does, and do likewise because in seeking
They learn: not every good is God, any good without
God is not worth whatever it takes or gives.
Food for Thought: There is no end to good things. In fact, better things emerge as days go by. There is not one person on earth, no matter how smart or rich, who can truly claim to have it all. And every good looking thing does not mean your good. The irony of life is that great things show up shoddy before our eyes whereas the good looking ones to which we are quick to pour our best on, eventually turn out as trash. It goes to confirm that looks are not enough. Those who judge by sight are bound to miss life’s greatest opportunities. We don’t find opportunities by looking for them because we can’t identify what we don’t know. Those who pay attention enough to learn, are prepared to know. Those who know are the ones who can tell, even from a distance, an opportunity that they have been made ready for. Those who are ready are the ones who have what it takes to embrace opportunities that often show up as challenges from which many run away. When the world is judging and concluding based on the information their senses are supplying, the wise, who have learned to say no to the good and for that reason have been reserved from fruitless distractions, are equipped to identify and maximize life changing opportunities despite their disguises. You have to learn to say no to some good in order to make the most of the goods that truly matter.
Scripture: One thing I have desired of the Lord, that will I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to inquire in His temple. Psalm 27: 4.
Prayer: Dear Lord, preserve my heart that I give not in to every good that appears on my path: I long to stay focused on You as my life’s priority: so help me O God, amen.
