Jesus talks of two roads, a broad road that leads to destruction; and a narrow road which leads to eternal life. I believe there are actually two narrow roads for the Christians, a narrow road for the Christians whom Paul describes in Corinthians as those who build upon the foundation of Christ, wood, hay, and stubble; and a narrow road for Christians who build upon the foundation of Christ, gold, silver, and precious stones. All Christians will be tried according to which narrow road they followed. Some works will be tried and come forth as gold; others will be burned as stubble. One road is very lonely and hard, the other fun and easy.

A Tale of two Roads is an analogy of an amazing woman, Glory Odemene, whom I have come to know and love. It is a story of the conscious decision she makes every day of her life. A decision that comes forth as gold   – Gus Yepiz

“Which road will you choose my child?” her Lord asked. “Whichever road you are on, that is the road I will choose,” she said as she stood staring at the two roads. “But my child,” said her Lord, “I am on both of the roads, for both roads are narrow and lead to life eternal.” “I don’t understand, why then are there two roads?” She asks, sizing up both roads. “Well, if you look closely, you will see the one road is full of people all going to the Celestial City, and although they love Me and My spirit is within them, their focus is on the comforts and pleasures of this life. These are the ones pursuing careers, building bank accounts, raising families, planning for retirement and enjoying the fruits of their labour. They actually praise Me and credit Me as the source of their rich and happy life. And of course they are right, for everything that is good comes from Me, even to those who are on the wide road.”

“What about that other road then?” she asked perplexed. “Ah!” said her Lord, “The second narrow road is a most desolate road. See its cracked pavement? Look into the horizon and see the lonely weary miles, feel the cold wind blowing across the lonely hi-way.” Then her Lord continued, “And although this road is open to all, only those who are worthy will ever travel it. This road is only chosen by a select few, a select few who believe that my Kingdom, the Kingdom of their God, is of far more value and worth than the few pleasures afforded in this life. These are the saints that have given up careers, bank accounts, retirements, and families, and even their very lives that they might labour for their Lord instead. This road is not for the faint of heart, the weak minded, or the self centered. It is a most lonely road full of high walls and obstacles where the enemy wanders about like a roaring lion. But only those who are worthy will choose this lesser road: this road less travelled. Only those who can run through a troop and jump over walls will this lonely and hostile road be a friend.”

He continued, “You see My child, not everyone who enters My city will hear Me say, ‘Well done, enter into the joy of the Lord’. All who enter from the other narrow road will be tried with fire. Some will barely make it with just their lives while others will come through as bronze or silver. But only those who come from the narrow road less travelled will I call by name, I will walk with them and comfort them, and to them alone will I say ‘well done.’ For they gave up the pleasures of this world for a season, and now I will welcome them by name and I will not be ashamed of them but proclaim them to the rest of the kingdom.”

With those words, she looked hard down that second road . . . , the lures of the world faded as the love for her God grew stronger. Then, with a smile and determination she picked up her sword, which spiritually is the word of God, made strong her shield of faith, put on the breastplate of righteousness, and with the love for her Lord in her heart, stepped onto the road less travelled.
