Holiness
I, nothing, unworthy
To approach, yet I come
Climbing the stairs of grace
That is built by faith
Clinging onto mercy
Drawn by eternal ropes of love
I draw nearer to Him
I come hungry, longing,
Reaching to behold, to embrace
To become, as He is.I draw near to see the awe
Feel the texture
Smell the aura
And taste the flavor
That I may know the wonder
And be wrapped, preserved
Within the fabrics
Of the palpable purity of His Presence
And there I am transformed
To become holy as He is.
The deepest longing of man is for Glory. The fallen man has had a taste of it. He has a faint memory of what it feels like but not how to gain it back. He therefore tries many ways until He finds the right and only Way.
Truth is that the god of this age, who stole the glory, blinded the eyes of man so that he is ever seeking and never finding. He leads him blindly around with false promises and man in hope that is ever disappointed follows in folly. He is told it is in hard work but unfortunately he is worn and yet finds it not. “It is in power.” He grabs it by intrigue and is the more frustrated. “It is in much wealth,” and he robs and kills to gain it only to end deeper and farther below the glory line. Every effort he makes gathers the dust of vanity upon vanity and ends up in vanity.
