God leads beyond five senses. Walking with God
Demands awakening of our ‘sixth sense’
. It takes
Spiritual sensitivity to decode, respond and receive
Gems lining godly paths
 which crowd avoids.
God is everywhere, f
or everyone but only
The alert can see
His footprints in the awkward
Hear His moves i
n stillness, smell the track
He is trailing, knowing
despite changing tides
The nearness of His Presence in the least expected
And unafraid, arise to
follow though others doubt
Though others balk, though others turn their back.
The alert has what it takes to follow hard after God:
Knowing beyond telling, “Though things appear
To
work contrary: if God’s in there, I’m in too!”

Food for Thought: When I was in kindergarten, I was so scared of the swing. During recess, for days we had to go on the swing, we all queued up and took turns to be pushed. I didn’t want to be left out or laughed at so like the rest, I would join the line. As my turn approached, I’d let a more excited mate who may have just taken his or her turn take my place while I took theirs at the rear. That would continue until recess was over. One day, my teacher noticed and insisted I must get on the swing. That was a very dramatic and frightening day. From the moment she asked me to step out of the line and get on the swing, the tears pooled and spilled. I said I didn’t like it but she insisted. I confessed that I was scared but she wouldn’t let me off. Instead, with the help of another teacher, they got me on, pushed it a bit and I let out this scary howl that had them hurriedly get me off. Fortunately, nobody teased me but also, nobody ever asked me to get on the swing again. We like to stay on the line to belong but we hate to face our fears. We are quick to claim Scriptures that proclaim we are the head and not the tail, the first and not the last but we dread situations that compel us to confront things that stand in the path of our manifestation. One of my favorite poems is The Road Not Taken by Robert Frost. If you look around, you will agree that there are not many who take the road often not taken, and those who dare are the ones that discover what nobody ever has. Not by dabbling and running along with whatever comes or glitters. Not by hiding behind fears or glossy labels invented for shirking. By daring our fears and following that internal guidance that God inspires, we can truly stand out as we find our path and learn confidence and excellence as we walk it with grace and patience. Life may not be easy but God makes all things possible and beautiful for those who are willing to trust Him as they get out to dare and overcome their fears.

Scripture: Hear, my children, the instruction of a father, and give attention to know understanding. Proverbs 4: 1.

Prayer: Dear Lord, be the Light, shinning in darkness, drawing my feet to the right path despite my fears, with eyes focused on You and not on where the rest of the world is headed: guide me in the path marked for me O God, amen.
