Before you run off and wreck all
Lend your ears to wisdom
Your heart to understanding
Your hands learning the ropes.
He who fears a fall can’t rise or fly.
He who is down and yet fears
May
never stand or take a step
He who is
up and fears to fail
Will surely fall and may never rise
But see that man who though he fears
Yet walks wi
th prudence and patience
Whose faith is anchored on the Lord
Whose trust rests on the Keeper
Not the created, yes he may fall often
But no fall is fatal, n
o height is enough
Nothing is final, a
gain and again, higher
He’ll rise,
better to stand the test of time.

Food For Thought: There will always be cares at every point in time of our lives. Yet, not every concern is as genuine and urgent as it appears: wisdom will discern the difference. In times when so many things are demanding our attention, we often err in appropriating priorities. The tendency to immediately ease pressures shifts our focus from truly urgent concerns. Nevertheless, the most pressing is often not the most important. Before the pressures mount, it is our responsibility to place things in proper perspective, allot them their due places, and attend to each accordingly. There may arise the need to shift the list and change plans but genuine needs will not throw off a man whose priorities are properly set. There are many things others can do and help us with but one of our primary responsibilities is to set our affairs in order. Those who dance to moment will rest only in the grave because there is no end to human wants. Those who have learned to plan ahead and give their best in due times will often find rest, here and there, enough to get refreshed and persist. In times like these, wisdom is essential, understanding is indispensable: God deals generously to those who ask.

Scripture: For a righteous man may fall seven times and rise again, but the wicked shall fall by calamity. Isaiah 24:16.

Prayer: Dear Lord, be my heart’s assurance, my hope’s insurance, that come what may, I am covered in You, covered by You, and covered with You, amen.
