Every day you wake to life, seize it!
It is your choice to enjoy, your chance for change.
Breath is a gift with wings, take in all you can and fly
Rulers will tax anything, men will measure everything
But no one weighs air inhaled so gulp all you need;
Inhale deeply, even lavishly, it is your fuel for flight.
As air to the lungs of the living, is wisdom in the heart
Of the willing, helping you stretch and soar.
Fear not the heat, fear not a hit, aim high, fear not
And if you fail, take it with grace: in every fall
There is a rising! Step back, look again, you’ll see;
To fall is a gift in disguise, bringing another chance
To rise again, to change course and change style
So take fall as a gift with a lift but never let it
Get in the way of flapping your wings!
Food For Thought: If you have been up and eventually hit the ground, you will realize that fall can be very painful and shameful. Any wonder the majority dread falls and failure? It appears to speak of our weakness, errors, inabilities, and incapability. The voice of our falls sound so negative we often miss the beautiful outcomes of seemingly ugly occurrences. Nevertheless, a fall can reveal new prospects for the future. It may speak not so well of our past, but it presents opportunities for learning and for change, and new possibilities for the future. When we know that all things, good and bad, work together for the best, it helps us to take rising and falling with grace and not despair. While some falls may attest to our blunders, there are those that are opportunities in disguise, repositioning us for what we would have missed, had we not taken that essential time out. Fear no one and fear no fall. Whether we stand or fall, God is with us, helping us every step of the way, to learn to do better so the days ahead will be our best.
