Love unlocked my heart and I poured it all
On Him, “I met many on my way. Hunters
After furs and meat. Hirelings with no stakes
In all shades and cloaks, everywhere in the wild
Setting traps for mega catch, in for all they’ll get
Not for once did I meet a Shepherd good like You.”
He only smiled appreciation but I wasn’t sure
He understood so once again I confessed, “There’s
No Shepherd like You.” He turned His face to me
And with that all knowing smile He leaned over
And whispered into my ears, “I know.” In peace
I fell asleep. Without a care, I fell asleep. In rest
I let Him carry me under wings of eternal love.
Food For Thought: While the blessings of many are perishing without them even realizing how gifted they are, there are those who know they are blessed but never pause to appreciate what they have. Who does not need a good doze of compliment every once in a while? I have been on edges where I was rescued by a kind word, delivered timely. I have also heard how my stopping by or putting through an unexpected call turned around hopeless situations. Of course compliments cannot bail one out of debt or trouble. Provided in sincerity, they possess the ability to empower and shift us into a position where we look with eyes of hope and see an ending not so bad after all, an ending closer to our dream, which bolsters us to go through today and days ahead no matter how terrible they may appear. While love makes the world go round, appreciation makes the world go up. You are not the only one that needs appreciation, others are equally encouraged to fully become and truly excel when they know they are appreciated. Everyone and everything appreciated improves in value while those underrated depreciate irrespective of their inherent values. Take time every day to appreciate who you are and where you are, to appreciate those in your life, and to appreciate what you have so far.
Scripture: It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows; for so He gives His beloved sleep. Psalm 127: 2.
Prayer: Dear Lord, I could go from north to south, I could go from east to west, yet will I find none else like You my God, who does wonders, in me and for me, amen.
