Eyes fixed on rumblings and rubbles
I see fear magnified, dwarfing faith
If hope goes blind, I crumble along.
Gaze fixed on the face of eternal Fixer
Who keeps all creation in order
I know peace despite the quakes
Enjoy rest in turmoil, and He preserves
Through storms that spin my change:
He hides me in the eye of the storm
Until my change is here to stay.

Food For Thought: Many people look to many things for hope and sustenance. Some look to the Government, their employers, their spouses, relatives and neighbors. For various things, people look to different means. The interesting thing is that all of these, no matter how great they appear, are all prone to disappoint. Once upon a time, the Psalmist was in a position where he considered where to look to; the high mountains or lofty hills? No matter how elevated such persons and places are, they remain subject to the change we all battle with. Where then do we turn our eyes, to find hope that won’t fade or fail? Upon the only constant in an ever changing world- God! It doesn’t matter how times and things turn and transform every other, God does not change. Upon this certainty only may we fix our eyes, assured that our hope will not tumble along with a crumbling world.

Scripture: When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, nor shall the flame scorch you. Isaiah 43: 2.

Prayer: Dear Lord, no matter the winds that may be blowing around and about me right now, I know and I am confident that You O God preserve me from harm and I am grateful, amen!
