Every day comes with newness
Sometimes appearing so attractive
I jump in and dance along
Sometimes appearing so baffling
I fear and run and hide.
Every day comes with new faces
How I see each depends
On where I choose to stand
How I choose to look
What I choose to see
And though my eyes remain the same
And though they see every day as same
Every day that comes my way is new:
Never been before
And never again will be.
Food For Thought: We allow the issues of life wear us out, sometimes because we can’t help it, some others because things didn’t go as expected. The chaos of one day drags us home, messes our sleep with nightmares, we wake up exhausted and drag it out into the new day. Added to the concerns of the new day, life turns complicated and we return more drained than we left. Thus a pattern is developed, that rolls from one day into the other, leaving us no better. For those situations we cannot help, at the least we can trust God to intervene and deliver. Through it all, we must learn to see each day as new and treat it accordingly; to give each day our very best and thereafter, let it go. The troubles of every day is more than enough so why bug it with past? If our best has been dispensed, it means we can’t do any better so why drag what didn’t work from the past. We should learn to do the best with what we have while we can and to trust God for the rest we can’t; to take life one day at a time.
Scripture: Then He who sat on the throne said, “Behold, I make all things new.” And He said to me, “Write, for these words are true and faithful.” Revelations 21: 5.
Prayer: Dear Lord, though my mind and my eyes remain the same, may I never see a new day as same with days past: help me to maximize the blessings of everyday, amen.
