We think life is something we can do and undo
Success is someplace we get to and chill
Victory is one mega hit that gets us there
Past was most precious, present too slow
Future too far and now not worth a wait.
Often we think patience is too expensive
Kindness is weakness, virtue overprized
Yet history proves again and again
That life is often not what we think it is
Life becomes whatever we make of it.

Food For Thought:
Once upon a time, my life was suspended on the pole of an expected milestone. Every fun thing I could imagine was scheduled post that milestone. Consequently, I made do with only what I could while actively anticipating the accomplishment of that milestone. Funny enough, the completion of that target was beyond my control but that wasn’t a problem. I had faith that it will be achieved. I had faith enough to wait. It was in the course of waiting that truth finally dawned: life cannot be postponed. You can’t wait to live tomorrow because tomorrow is not guaranteed. You can’t wait to live after some anticipated event because time does not wait for anybody or anything. The past is gone and no longer yours. Tomorrow is not yet yours. All you have is the life you have right now: this very moment. Thank God for hope but many have died with living faith. It doesn’t change the truth that God is good and faithful. The timings of life are not for us to fix: our duty is to live, to cherish the moments we have, to make the most of it. We don’t need to have details of the timings to live: all we need to live today has been given. God will not tax us for tomorrow that is not yet given. Our accountability is based on what we do with now. It is irresponsibility to push things to a tomorrow we don’t yet have especially if they can be done today. Like time waits for no one, life waits for no time. Life happens while we are waiting. Life is there for everyone who is out to live. And life will continue to be though we choose to wait. Living is not a past or future tense. Life is a present tense. Life is now.

Scripture: Do not boast about tomorrow, for you do not know what a day may bring forth. Proverbs 27: 1.

Prayer: Dear Lord, I know that life is not what I think, I don’t know the end from the beginning but I know Him who knows and controls them: help me to walk ever closer to You and to enjoy every moment I am given, amen.
