Sores are part of life: each man and his own.
Some sores are obscure, some are obvious
Yet they are there, liked or not. Sores are painful
Sometimes shameful and often need air to heal.
Earned, acquired or inherited – makes no difference
What matters is how you deal your sores.
They said attitude is everything; I learned attitude
Is a position that enable or disable what we perceive
Give and receive. Attitude is the difference between
Victors and victims. In the end, it’s not about sores
Life inflicts, it is in the attitude each man adopts.
Food For Thought: Everyone nurses a sore or more in their lives. We tend to look at our personal sores with tenderness and at others’ critically. Meanwhile, we don’t want others viewing or relating our sores in such harsh terms. We all have different ways of handling the things that come our way. Some look from the hilarious corner while others adopt and apply very somber strategies from the least to the most grueling issues. To some, it’s all a joke while another group take it so serious as to confront and fight over something and nothing. How you look at life determines what you see. In the photo above, how you see the palm imprint depends on how you choose to view it. We need eyes of grace to see the beauty in difficulties or life would be unbearable. We need eyes of mercy to see virtue in a wicked world. We need eyes of love to see beyond hatred that is spilling all around us. We need eyes of wisdom to see that despite the deceptions and tragedies of today, there are still so many people and things going right. We need good eyes to see good in bad times. We need flexible eyes that would do justice to every situation, not the stereotyped eyesight that is biased, rigid and full of condemnation.
Scripture: Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus. Philippians 2: 5.
Prayer: Dear Lord, change my heart to be like Yours, to reflect You in every word I speak, in everything I do, everywhere I find myself, amen.
