I broke the hedge I shouldn’t, I must pay off
My debt. Death was my due – precious life
And relations, severed by rebellion.
Crumpled on the earth; rumpled by burdens
And sorrows, forever a slave to death
I lay gasping, I lay dying but there was
A rumble that made me tremble and
There was a quaking hat made all tumble;
And to that tumbling, there was no end until
My eyes found the face of an angry Father
Who has had enough. A Father who has come
With judgment on the tormentor of a child
He loved still no matter what he’d done.
Food For Thought: But for the mercies of God! True and just as He is by nature, God’s mercy stands in the gap and spares from what is due us. After the fall, hopelessness was the lot of mankind and evil ruled. The enemy concluded that the end of man for whom God cared so much had come; they will never rise again, they will never live again. For as long as their breath remains, they will be slaves to sin. Never again to be free. Is that your situation today? Is your current condition taunting; that you will never rise again. Never be free again. Never be able to get away. Never make it again. Is your current situation singing in your ears, “It is over! You are done!” That’s okay. The problem is not with external conditions that you may not be able to change. The key lies within you; your heart, your attitude; your ability to muster, maintain, and sustain that which you can. Knock off what your condition is saying, what is your heart saying? What your heart says is critical. What is God saying to you? Are the confessions of your heart in agreement with God’s? If yes is the answer, then fear not. Lies may abide for a while but truth claims the ultimate triumph. If your heart is echoing what your circumstances are saying, there is a problem. If the song of your heart is not aligned with what God is saying, then there lies your biggest concern. Set your heart to the tune of God’s Word concerning you irrespective of the situation, then trust God and know that come what may, His Word which you have believed will surely come to pass.
Scripture: Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Matthew 11: 28.
Prayer: Dear Lord, by my indiscretions, I have brought upon myself, such overwhelming weights, hear my cry O God and deliver me from troubles, amen.
