When you are going through the Separation Program, there are times you will feel isolated, deserted, abandoned, alone to the point that it may even feel like God is not there with you. Like He is not for you anymore. But we should know better: that truth is not determined by how we feel. God has promised to never leave nor forsake us, no matter where we are and what we are going through. That is a truth we can take to the bank, confident that we can cash it in whether we feel so or not.
Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you. Deuteronomy 31:6.
The Lord Himself goes before you and will be with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Deuteronomy 31:8.
And teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age. Matthew 28:20.
Each program has different levels (as described in details in the book.) Whatever level you find yourself in, hold tight to the truth that God is always with you. It will save you a lot of trouble. I do not encourage that you shun your feelings. It is healthy to be in touch with how we feel. To bring it before God and lay it down at the foot of the cross. To know that feelings change but truth abides forever. Feelings come and go, but truth stands the test of time. Whatever you are dealing with in each level and however that leaves you feeling, never forget that truth trumps feeling.
Cry if you have to. Let yourself crumble if you need to. Feel bad if that helps. Through it all, never forget that God’s got your back. He is for you. If you can look past the pain and the tears, past the emotions piling up and spilling around, and keep your tearful gaze on Jesus, you will come through stronger than you entered that furnace.
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose. Romans 8:28.
