Let those full of their dreams and devices be.
Counsel served unsought is oft despised.
Those who cannot listen cannot learn
A teachable heart is a peerless gift;
Eyes that see and perceive truth
Ears that hear and bear wisdom
Hearts humble and hungry for gold
Brushed aside by the hasty, saves a ton!
To grow from grass to grace to glory
Breed an open heart: learn all you can
Stay open; learn to grow and groom virtue:
Knowledge is bread to the heart
And what you do with what you learn
Not numbers, tells how old you truly are.
You are not alone so as you learn, share:
You need others, others need you:
Whatever you do, don’t be an island.

Food for Thought: Given the times we live in, we often hear the phrase, “On your own,” and truly, that has become the reality of many. Whatever you do, whatever you’re facing, the majority of times, you are left to deal with those on your own. Knowledge is essential for success but nobody knows it all. I cannot count how many mistakes I made in the absence of wise counselors, and how much recoveries I have recorded because I learned to surround myself with sound minds on whom I can bounce off ideas and share the good and the not so good times of my life. The difference that ability to share has made in my journey so far is indescribable! We all need to learn and to continue learning. In addition to that, we also need to share lessons learned as well as tap into the wisdom of others through meaningful relationships so we can also learn from what others have learned and avoid wasting experiences to relearn what is better avoided. Alone, life is a constant battle but when shared, it is sheer delight despite the challenges. Don’t learn or live alone. Life is fun when shared.
