They said that times are dark
They said these are dreary and lonely days
They said there will be gloomy nights
But today I choose joy, I choose peace
I choose to rejoice for all I have
I choose to believe for all I have not
Yes, these may not be the best of times
Yet I choose to cheer up and look up
To wish everyone I meet today and onwards

Guess what? There will always be day and night, ups and downs, tough and fun times, cheery and gloomy seasons. It is not so much as about what the seasons bring as it is about how we choose to see them and what we determine to make of each. It is a new year: allow yourself a fresh hope. Don’t let the disappointment of last year rob you of the joy of this new year.

Life is more about the choices we make than it is of the things we cannot help. This year; choose joy. Choose peace. Choose hope. Trust that God knows what is going on and He is good at what He does. Believe that you can make it through whatever this year brings or takes. Then take it one step at a time. One day at a time. It is well with us. Amen.
